Welcome to our club’s website.

We meet on Tuesday evenings in the upstairs function room at the Lincolnshire Poacher real ale pub, 161 Mansfield Road, NG1 3FR, 10 minutes walk from Victoria Centre, and a couple of stops by all NCT buses going up Mansfield Road (Stop FO12 ‘Huntingdon St’ coming from town, FO09 ‘Huntingdon St’ going towards town).

Parking is available on Mansfield Road (a parking charge applies until 10pm), North Sherwood Street (restricted times), and side streets.

We are located perfectly for any chess players who work or study at Nottingham Trent Uni.

We will again enter 7 teams in the Nottinghamshire Chess League for 2026-27, with two teams in division 1, and have 2 teams in this summer’s NCA Summer League (see the League Management System website at https://lms.englishchess.org.uk/lms/organisation/680).

We also run internal club competitions, both casual (for example, our club championship which Mike Barnes won this season) and ECF rated (for example, our Rapidplay Swiss which Mike Naylor-Eade won this season).
