With the exception of our 3rd team winning the 3rd division title, this was a pretty average season for the club, but there were many impressive individual results.

Before we look at our members’ best results in the league, we must mention Mike N-E’s astonishing performance in the 4NCL this season. He played 10 games against opponents averaging 2068 and scored 6 wins, 3 draws and only 1 loss (to a 2244). His tournament performance rating was 2261!

Young Albert is clearly under graded as he produced some excellent results against opponents far stronger than him on paper. He beat RB’s now sadly late Barry Redburn (582 points higher), Central’s Alex Meade (379) & Grantham’s Chris Cumbers (345) and drew with Newark’s Martyn Winn (549) & RB’s highly experienced Marcel Taylor (504).

Onos had very good draws against Mansfield’s Jon Tait (249 points higher) & Peter Ackley (228), Uni’s Oliver Schumann (157) and our very own Mike N-E twice (180).

Andy had a purple patch in Feb and March with 4 good draws against Ash’s John Amison (193 points higher) & Nigel Wright (174), WB’s Tomasz Adamski (184) and Newark’s Martyn Winn (170).
